Frequently asked question · Visibility by Persona

Who defines the personas?

You do, with us. The platform never suggests a persona, generates one, or assigns it for you; each is a name, a colour, and a description your team and ours agree on. In Managed GEO we set them during onboarding; in GEO Consulting & Trends they follow your ICPs or buying committee. Add one, rename it, or rewrite its description from the Personas page whenever you like, and we can do the same.

What a persona is made of

A persona on the platform is three things: a name, a colour for its line on the card, and a description of who the segment is. The description is the part worth spending time on. It is written in plain language, something like "SMB Owner, runs a ten-person team, decides on price and setup time", and it does more than label a chart. When a content routine is pointed at that persona's prompts, the name and description reach the writer as the audience, so a vague description produces a vaguer article.

There is no demographics form and nothing is inferred from the answers. If a persona exists, someone on your side or ours typed it in.

How we arrive at the list together

In Managed GEO the personas come out of onboarding. We ask who buys, who influences the purchase, and who asks the first question, and we write those down as segments with you. In GEO Consulting and Trends the personas usually already exist as your ICPs or as the roles on the buying committee, so the work is mapping them onto prompts, one workspace per market.

Either way, the list is yours to change. The Personas page lets you add one, rename one, or rewrite its description, and we can do the same from our side.

Assigning them to prompts

A persona only does something once prompts carry it. You set it per prompt, in bulk on a selection, or on a whole batch promoted from Prompt Research. In the Prompts table it is a column you can sort and filter on, and a No persona filter finds the prompts still waiting for one.
