Frequently asked question · B2B SaaS

We already have an SEO agency. Is this the same thing?

No, and it does not replace them. SEO wins a position on a results page. This wins a mention inside an answer that has no results page. The overlap is real, since readable pages, clear structure, and crawler access help both, but what we track is different: how often ChatGPT, Gemini, and Perplexity name you against the competitors you list, how early, and which sources they cite instead of you. The two can point in opposite directions in the same month, which is the reason to read both.

Where the two overlap

The technical groundwork is shared. Server-rendered pages with real headings, a robots.txt that lets the crawlers in, a sitemap that agrees with the pages: your SEO agency has reasons to want all of that, and so do we. When we fix a docs page so the engines can read it, search benefits from the same change. Nothing in the roadmap asks you to undo work an SEO team did well.

The content is where the paths split. An SEO brief targets a keyword with volume. We write for the question a buyer types into a chat window: the best tool for a 12-person team, alternatives to the leader, whether it integrates with the stack they already run. Those pages read like documentation, because that is what the engines quote, and they rarely look like what a keyword brief produces.

What each report can tell you

The SEO report shows rankings, sessions, and traffic to your pricing page. It has no row for the answer that named three vendors and skipped you, and nothing in it says what the engines tell buyers your product costs.

Ours shows mention rate per engine on your buyers' questions, how early in the answer you appear, share of voice against the competitors you named, and the pages cited instead of yours: a rival's comparison, a directory row, an old forum thread. We run those questions once a day, so month-over-month movement is measured rather than guessed.

Reading both together

Keep the SEO agency. Read the two reports side by side and expect them to disagree sometimes: a page can climb in search while the engines keep quoting a competitor's comparison of you. The prompts you are absent from become the pages we write next, and they land in the same CMS your SEO team works in.
