Frequently asked question · Prompt Tracking

How are the prompts chosen?

At onboarding we read your site and propose fifteen unbranded, evergreen questions, five for each buying stage, then go through them with you. After that, new prompts come from Prompt Research, which starts from keywords or URLs and real search demand, or from your team when a question comes up in sales or support. A person reviews every prompt before it is tracked.

What the onboarding set looks like

The fifteen questions are written in the buyer's words, not yours: "best CRM for a small real-estate agency", never "is Acme any good". Each one is evergreen, so it can run every day for months and still mean the same thing, and each one has one country, because New York and London get different answers. The five per buying stage matter because a brand can be named when someone is comparing options and missing when they are still learning what to look for.

We go through the list with you before the first run. You know which questions your sales team hears and which ones nobody asks, and that review is where the set gets corrected.

How the set grows afterwards

Prompt Research takes up to 20 keywords you already target, or up to 5 URLs, yours or a competitor's, and returns topics with real search demand, each with unbranded candidate prompts. Anything too close to a prompt already tracked is flagged Already covered. We review the rest with you and promote the keepers.

The other source is your own team. A question that keeps coming up in sales calls or support tickets is a question buyers are probably also asking the engines, and it can go straight into the set.

Why a person reviews every one

A prompt is the unit everything else measures. Mention rate, share of voice, position, the persona splits and the content routines all read from the answers a prompt collects. A vague or branded prompt produces answers that measure nothing, and it runs daily on every engine until someone notices. Reviewing each one before it is tracked is cheaper than finding out later.
