Frequently asked question · Ecommerce & DTC

How long before AI starts naming us?

We will not give you a date, and anyone who does is guessing. The order is predictable, though: a product page we rewrite this month is recrawled within weeks, so “does it come in wide sizes” gets answered off your page instead of a guess. Getting named in “best under $150” takes a season, because the engines assemble that answer from reviews, threads, and guides they already trust and those have to accumulate. From week one you watch the mention rate and the cited sources move, which is a fairer thing to hold us to than a promise.

Two kinds of question, two speeds

The questions shoppers ask split into two kinds, and they move at different speeds. The first kind is about your product: does it come in wide sizes, which of the two models fits. An engine answers that from whichever page says it plainly, and once we rewrite your product page to say it, the page is recrawled within weeks and the answer starts coming off your page instead of a guess. That is the fast lane, and it is where the first movement shows.

The second kind is about the category: best under a budget, yours versus theirs, is it worth it. The engine does not answer that from your page. It assembles the answer from reviews, Reddit threads, YouTube reviews, and buying guides it already trusts, and those have to accumulate before your name shows up in the shortlist. A season is a fair expectation for that lane, and anyone who promises less is guessing.

What we do while the slow lane fills

We publish the buying guides and head-to-head comparisons on your domain, so that at least one page answering "A vs B" has your product in the frame. The daily runs rank the threads and reviews the engines cite in your category, counted from your own results, and we work down that ranking. Each month the next piece targets whichever question the runs say you are still losing.

What you watch from week one

The runs start with the engagement, so from the first week you see your mention rate per engine, how early you appear, and which sources each answer cited. When a cited source changes from a rival's comparison to your guide, you see it the day it happens. That is a fairer thing to hold us to than a date.
